MS International Federation to update the Principles for Quality of Life
Collaborative work has begun to update the ‘gold standard’ for quality of life
Last updated: 22nd March 2016
In 2005 the MS International Federation outlined the gold standard of what people affected by MS need in order to have quality of life.
This document was called the ‘Principles to promote the quality of life of people with MS’.
These principles have been used by MS organisations around the world to inform strategic plans and advocacy campaigns, and to prioritise the care and support services they provide.
We are now updating the principles in order to incorporate new developments in MS treatments, up to date research and how information is shared. In doing this we hope to bring renewed global attention to the ways life can be improved for people affected by MS right now.
As in 2005 we will consult with people affected by MS, MS organisations, researchers and healthcare providers to develop these standards.
