The International Progressive MS Alliance exists to accelerate the development of effective treatments for people with progressive forms of MS to improve quality of life worldwide. It is an unprecedented global collaboration of MS organisations, researchers, health professionals, the pharmaceutical industry, companies, trusts, foundations, donors and people affected by progressive MS, working together to address the unmet needs of people with progressive MS ─ rallying the global community to find solutions. Our promise is more than hope, it is progress.

The Alliance was established in 2012, by six founding members: MSIF, and the MS societies of CanadaItaly, the Netherlands, the UK and the USA, who made a joint commitment to speed up the development of treatment for progressive MS by removing scientific and technology barriers.

The Alliance now has 19 member organisations who, between them, have many years’ experience of MS research and have funded significant developments in research, disease-modifying therapies and symptom treatments.
