Cykelnerven is Europe’s most unique and challenging charity cycling event. To finish, daring riders must take on over 400km of the toughest climbs from the Tour de France just weeks before the official race. It’s the ride that every cyclist dreams of, but only the strongest can complete.

This year our riders cycled like the pros, taking on parts of stage 11 and 12 of the Tour de France. This includes peaks like Col du Galibier, Col du Télégraphe, and the legendary climb up Alpe d’Huez with its 21 hair pin corners up the mountainside. Around 300 cyclists completed the iconic route, including riders from Denmark, the USA, France, Germany, Spain, Ireland, and Canada.

An incredible €90,000 was raised by the 18 MSIF cyclists to help fund:

  • The brightest junior researchers from low and middle income countries to complete placements in world-leading MS research centres, developing crucial skills and expertise they can bring back to help transform the MS landscape in their home country.
  • The international collaboration to end progressive MS. The International Progressive MS Alliance combines the best scientific minds from across the globe, doctors, industry, and people affected by progressive MS to fund ground-breaking research to accelerate new treatments for progressive MS.
  • Work to support existing and emerging MS organisations in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia who are best placed to meet the needs of the MS community in their countries.

We are so proud of our incredible cyclists. It took stamina and will-power to brave the dizzying highs and lows of the Tour de France for MS.
