The Cyprus MS Association will bring together up to 80 of its members at an important meeting in October to present details of new national healthcare legislation and update the organisation’s statutes.
The meeting, to be held on 20th October, will include a presentation outlining the new General Healthcare Plan (GESY) and its impact on people living with chronic conditions.
The GESY will provide all Cypriot citizens with full healthcare coverage. Under the scheme, citizens will contribute a small percentage of their monthly income in return for the freedom to be seen by a physician or other healthcare professional in either the private or public sector that they choose, regardless of their financial situation. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the new legislation.
A representative of Cyprus MS Association said, ‘the Association always mediates for the proper and valid sharing of information with its members, especially concerning matters of health and personal rights.’
