Portuguese Politicians experience MS symptoms
National Multiple Sclerosis Day marked across Portugal
Last updated: 18th January 2017
In December 2016, the Portuguese MS Society (Sociedade Portuguesa de Esclerose Múltipla or SPEM) organised events and media coverage to ensure that the whole country was united against MS.
At the Portuguese parliament, politicians experienced some simulated MS symptoms. This helped them to understand the daily challenges faced by people with MS. The event was covered by national media, helping to raise awareness even further.
There were events to raise money and awareness for MS throughout the whole month, including a dinner, an art exhibition, clinical seminars and a golf tournament!
