The Swedish government has decided to develop national guidelines for treating MS in Sweden.
Neuroförbundets, the MS International Federation member organisation in Sweden, is involved as a partner of interest and will be taking part in the national and regional hearings in different parts of Sweden during the coming months.
The National Board of Health and Welfare leading the work and the national guidelines will hopefully be introduced during 2016.
Marit Jenset, CEO of Neuroförbundets, says: “This is a major achievement for us and we expect that the differences in treatment of MS throughout the country will be reduced.”
In Sweden, over half a million people live with neurological diseases such as MS, Parkinson’s disease, stroke or ALS. Neuroförbundets offers them information, support and advice. The organisation has around 14,000 members and 90 local branches.
