Training MS organisations in the Arab region

Within the framework of MS International Federation’s work with MS organisations in the Arab region, a two-day training event took place in March in Dubai, UAE.

Eighteen participants representing MS organisations in Palestine, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, UAE and Bahrain attended. The training focused on building essential skills in volunteer recruitment and grant proposal writing.

The MS organisations involved contributed to the training event organisation and planning including topic selection and the final content via a webinar and regular phone calls. The UAE MS Support Group provided logistical support in identifying and liaising with the venue and other suppliers in Dubai.

Cooperation

Training opportunities such as these are essential in equipping organisations with the skills to better support people affected by MS. It also gives organisations the chance to share information and experiences, opening the way for future cooperation.

At the end of the training each organisation set goals reflecting what they had learned from the training. It is hoped that the delegates will not only apply the newly acquired skills but will share them with other colleagues in their respective organisations.
